To Party Leaders: protect the NHS before more patients die
We all deserve an NHS that we can rely on. But right now, around 9.5 million people are on waiting lists across the UK, being denied life-saving healthcare – and many of them will die before they get the care they need. It’s shocking, but it’s all down to the irresponsible choices that politicians have made.
For years, the government has been starving the NHS of vital funding, forcing hospitals to run with severe staff shortages, while handing out millions of pounds to unaccountable private health companies to fill in the gaps. Now, the NHS is on the brink of collapse, and patients are paying the price with their lives.
Enough is enough. In the run up to the General Election, we need to urgently press party leaders to start making the right choices to protect patients’ lives: to properly invest in the NHS, give fair pay to staff, and end the outsourcing of NHS services to profiteering private companies.
