Why won’t you talk, Wes?
We are a group of patients who have been severely impacted by the ongoing crisis in the NHS. And we want to talk to Wes Streeting.
A number of us have lost loved ones because ambulances didn’t come for hours when they should have arrived in minutes. Others of us have suffered traumatic, life-threatening experiences because urgent care was not provided when it should have been. Some of us have spent thousands of pounds out of our own pockets to pay for care which should have been available on the NHS. We have all been badly failed by the lack of adequate funding into the NHS.
⏱ How long we’ve been waiting for Wes Streeting to meet us:
For almost a year, we have been asking Health Secretary Wes Streeting for a meeting to discuss our experiences, and the changes we would like to see in the NHS. We first wrote to him on 8th November 2024, but received no response. Since then, we’ve tried to engage him in person, we’ve delivered a letter to the Department of Health, we’ve written to him directly - again - to reiterate our request. Still nothing.
Whilst Streeting ignores requests to meet from patients, research by Every Doctor shows that he is accepting hundreds of thousands of pounds in funding from donors who are linked to private healthcare companies.
This begs the question - who has access to Wes Streeting? And whose interests is he really serving?
We need your help to shine a light on this, and to increase the pressure on Streeting to meet with patients whose lives have been deeply impacted by the crisis in our NHS.

“Hi Wes. A group of patients who have been severely impacted by the crisis in our NHS have repeatedly asked to meet with you - yet you have ignored them. You won’t talk to patients, but you will accept hundreds of thousands of pounds from donors linked to private healthcare. This isn’t right. If you truly care about the patient voice, please commit to a meeting: www.justtreatment.org/streeting”
