Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic disease that affects over 100,000 people across the world. Though there is no cure for CF, the good news is there are drugs out there that can majorly improve length and quality of life for CF patients.

But the bad news is that Vertex - the giant US pharma company that makes the drugs - is charging an eye-watering $311,000 per patient per year for these medicines. This means the vast majority of CF patients globally cannot afford access. Children like Sofyia in Ukraine. Vihaan in India. Janco in South Africa. Kassem in Lebanon. All of them are being left to suffer and die without treatment, simply because Vertex want to maximise their profits.

We believe it is unjustifiable for a multi-billion dollar company to put such a price on a life. That’s why we’ve joined forces with Vertex Save Us and CF patients and families across the world to shine a light on this injustice and win global access to lifesaving treatment once and for all. This is a fight that we already won in the UK back in 2019 - so we know we can do it again, but only if enough of us take action together.
